Numismatics
NOTE! This is a BETA version of the game. You are free to play around buy during development saved games may WILL be broken, meaning you would have to start over with the next update. Right now, downloadable saved files are easily manipulated. I have to find a way around this, meaning the current saved files WILL break when this is patched.
This is a numismatics game. This means, you trade and collect coins.
There are 3 things that make a coin cheap or expensive:
- The age of the coin. Older coins are worth more.
- The mintage. Coins with a lower mintage are rarer and there for more expensive.
- Quality. A higher quality coin is more expensive.
There are a few different qualities:
- Circulated (C) - Circulated coins are used to pay and as change. They are worn down.
- Uncirculated (UNC) - Uncirculated coins are protected from damage the second they leave the press.
- Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) - This coin has the best possible quality from the UNC batch.
- Proof (PP) - A proof coin is pressed with special plates and the finish is done by hand with extra care. It is the highest quality you can find.
The qualities can have a few upgrades, making them even more expensive:
- First Day of Issue (FDI) - This coin was pressed the first day of release. They are therefor always a little more expensive than the same coin of the same quality. FDI upgrades can be found on ANY quality.
- Silver Proof (S) - This coin is made of 925/1000 sterling silver, and therefor more expensive than other coins. Silver coins are always of PP quality.
- Gold Proof (G) - This coin is made of 24 karats gold, and therefor more expensive than other coins. Gold coins are always of PP quality.
You start with €1000 (play money!!!) which you can use to buy as many coins as you like. The trick is to buy new coins, because they grow in value faster than older coins.
Keep your eye on the calendar! That way you will never miss an event or a coin release.
